He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hughes and Dona Addair Hughes; and his siblings, Ray Hughes, Roy Hughes, Raymond Hughes, Roger Hughes and Shirley Faye.
He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Hughes; his daughter Misty Shortt (Jim) of Claypool Hill, Virginia; his grandsons, Cody Jewell (Chloe) of Bluefield and Chase Jewell of Baptist Valley, Virginia; his siblings, Ralph Hughes of Bland, Virginia, Barbara Ann Pruitt of Bland, Louise Brown of Lewis, Lucille Russell of Elkton and Della Hatfield of Iaeger; and his pet Bo Bo. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
