He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Mattox and Mabel Ellen Westfall Mattox; and his sister Ruth Ellen Miller. He is survived by: his siblings, Dewy, Wilard Mattox and Lucy Westfall. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home (148 E Lee St, Broadway, VA 22815). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jenkins Chapel Cemetery (1625 Jenkins Hollow Rd, Mathias, WV 26812).
