She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen B. Whitten (Weeks) and Wilburn B. Whitten; her sister Pamela Whitten; and her father-in-law Robert O. Spurgeon. She is survived by: her husband Daniel Harley Spurgeon; her son Luke Wilburn Spurgeon; her brother Timothy Gibson Whitten (Mary); and her mother-in-law C. Eileen Spurgeon. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
