We are sad to announce that, on August 20, 2025, at the age of 70, Elroy Sawyers (Beckley, West Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Elroy had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Elroy may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Redstein and Geneva Redstein; and his brothers, Sam Sawyers, Red Sawyers and Steve Sawyers (late Debbie Sawyers).
He is survived by: his son Doug Sawyers (Jamie) of Buckhannon, WV; his grandson Hunter Sawyers; his sisters, Joyce Permelia and Kay Cochran; and his close friend Linda Waddell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family.
