She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Hicks and Annie Francis Clay Hicks; her former husband Berthel Cales Sr.; her husband Norman Ed Adkins; her son Hurshel Cales; and her siblings, Lewis Levi Hicks, Delores Hundley, Ginger Wills and Hazel Weidenhoft.
She is survived by: her children, Berthel Cales Jr., Robert Cales, Ginger Hunt, Norma Rice (Charles), Edna Vest (Andy) and Holly Jones (Tyrone); her stepchildren, Gary W. Cales and Myarlin Jean Smith; and her siblings, Janette Reed, Helene Rizzuto and Samuel Hicks. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
