He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hylton Garten; his sons, Derrick Garten of Oak Grove and Cole Garten of Oak Grove; his grandchildren, Katie Garten, Kash Garten and Asher Garten; and his brother Eldon Garten (Carolyn) of Stanaford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
