It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Thorn of Beckley, West Virginia, born in Mullens, West Virginia, who passed away on September 10, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Thorn and Laura Mary Thorn; and his siblings, Leslie Thorn, Charlotte Epling and Freda Fitzgerald.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Thorn; his children, Keith Thorn (Sara) and Karen Dickens (Shannon); his grandson Dylan Dickens of Beckley; and his brothers, Danny (Joyce) of Blacksburg, VA, Frank "Hogie" (Cindy) of Hampton, VA and Terry (Karen) of Mullens, WV.

While masks are not required, you might consider wearing one before entering the building, and social distancing as we all attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19.
