He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Johnson and Virginia E. Johnson (Betty); and his siblings, Bruce A. Johnson and Brenda J. Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Mae W. Nowlin Johnson; his daughter Kimberly W. Johnson; his siblings, Rev. Garland Johnson (Brenda) of Charleston, WV, Dr. Johnny Johnson (June) of Denver, CO, Darrell Johnson (Mary) of Richmond, VA and Priscilla Bass (William) of St. Albans, WV; his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Nowlin Moore of Beckley, WV, Barbara Nowlin of Beckley, WV, Garnette Nowlin Alexander of Beckley, WV, Elaine Nowlin of Decatur, GA and Andi Johnson of Culpepper, VA; and his friends, Randall Woody, PJ Blankenship and Fred Washburn. He is also survived by nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.
