He was predeceased by: his parents, Leoda Thompson and William Thompson; his sister Betty Rhodes; and his daughter Janette Evelyn Porter. He is survived by: his wife Shelvia Jean Jarrett Thompson of Beckley, WV; his son Jeff Thompson (Linda) of Charleston, WV; his brother-in-law Tommy Jarrett of Cleveland, OH; his son-in-law Chris Porter of Georgia; and his grandchildren, Justin (Andrea) of Charleston, WV, Garrett of Charlotte, NC and Allison of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Assembly of God (319 Sunset Dr, Beckley, WV 25801). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the TBD Calvary Assembly of God (319 Sunset Dr, Beckley, WV 25801). A burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens (5250 Robert C Byrd Dr, Mt Hope, WV 25801).
