He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Long and Dana Long; the mother of his children Linda Spencer Long; his siblings, Fred Long and Archetta DeBarr; and his former wife Linda Long.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy K. Long; his brother Wyatt Long (Patty); his children, Tammy Lyons (Rick), Dwane Long (Pat), Dallas Long (Char) and Michael Mooney (Carrie); and his grandchildren, Megan Schaus (Eric), Christopher Baire, Kristine Lyons (Brittany), Joseph Lyons (Brittainey), Tyler, Casey, Chloe, Monica, Julienna Long and Mason Mooney. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.

Dallas R. Long died on December 22nd, 2025 surrounded by family at his home in Berkeley Springs, WV after a long journey with Alzheimer's.
