It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Franklin Shoemaker of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, born in Hancock, Maryland, who passed away on July 19, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thorton Shoemaker and Leathiee Hull Shoemaker; his wife Mary Alice Murphy Shoemaker; his son James Marvin Shoemaker; and his siblings, Virgie Hull McFadden, Floyd Shoemaker and Ira Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his sons, John Boyd Shoemaker of Berkeley Springs, Tommy Jack Shoemaker of Berkeley Springs, David Eugene Shoemaker of Berkeley Springs and Daniel Elwood Shoemaker of Berkeley Springs; his granddaughters, Kayla Sue Harkcom of Williamsport, MD, Colleen Rose Smith of Berkeley Springs and Megan Michelle Frey of Berkeley Springs; and his great grandchildren, Kandis, Maverick, Dalice and Ryan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
