He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Herman and Viola Ruth Brown Shaffer; and his son Thomas Paul Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Bess Shaffer; his son Dennis R. Shaffer; his grandchildren, John St (Clair), Brittney Shaffer, Brooke Younker, Thomas Shaffer II and Alece Farris; his great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Asher, Allison, Annie, Abby, Izzy, Taylor, Jasmine, Khali, Teegan and Jamasia; and his sister Margaret Morelock.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel (3296 Charmil Dr, Manchester, MD 21102).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society, 5366 Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
