He was predeceased by: his mother Mildred A. Giesmann (White). He is survived by: his father Carl L. Giesmann; his friend Christian; his wife Susan Lynn Giesmann (Kallquist); his children, Matthew Carl Giesmann (Amber) of Boston and Anna Rebecca Li (William) of Long Island; his grandchildren, Lucas Carl Giesmann, Micah Aaron Giesmann, Sylvia Grace Li and Caleb Francis Li; his sister Lois Strycula (John); and his siblings-in-law, MaryEllen Hall and William Kallquist (Christine). He is also survived by his family, friends, church family, and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene (835 Washington Pike, Wellsburg, WV 26070). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Giesmann Scholarship at Grove City College, c/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070, honoring John's lifelong connection to the college, his family heritage, and his commitment to education.
