He was predeceased by: his mother Wanda Joy; his brother-in-law Romie "Kieth" Kincaid; his grandmothers, Ella W. Joy and Lucy E. Drake; his uncles, Edward W. Joy and Arthur "Buster" Waybright; his aunt Joyce A. Waybright; and his cousins, Jeffrey W. and Jessica R. Devore.
He is survived by: his mother Jerry Abston of Beverly, WV; and his siblings, Harold Joy (Dina) of Belleville, Ella Mays (Randy) of Orgas, WV and Edna Yoakum (Dan) of Beverly, WV. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews; and twenty-one great nieces and nephews.
