It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sam Higgins of Beverly, West Virginia, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Higgins and Myrtle Taylor Higgins; his brother Jack Higgins (Crystal) of Wheeling, WV.; his son Richard Lee Higgins; his siblings, Henry Higgins and Helen Anderson; and his brother-in-law Dave Everson.
He is survived by: his son Donald D. "Robin" Higgins (Marie) of Beverly; his stepchildren, Edwin Bender (Grace) of Belington, Lena Mae Hicks (Mike) of North Carolina and Sandy Bender of Belington; his siblings, Mike Higgins (Cathy) of Elkins, Jim Higgins (Genny) of Elkins, Buck Higgins (Lucille) of Wheeling, WV., Patty Everson of Virginia and Sis Everett of Belington; his grandsons, David Lee Higgins (Macie) and Joshua Tyler Higgins (Shawn McPherson); his stepgrandson Dakota Bender; and his great grandchildren, Roman David Higgins and Gabriel Asher Higgins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Refuge Church (9 S Stalnaker Run Rd, Elkins, WV 26241). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
