She was predeceased by: her parent Sola; and her siblings, Charles White and Pearl Casto. She is survived by: her husband Charles Ray Carpenter; and her children, Ellen Hall (Brian) of Elizabeth, Kim Hornsby (Scott Nelson), Renee Matthews (Norman) of Wharton and Anthony Carpenter of Bim. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two aunts, two brothers and one sister; with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
