He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thomas Byers, Sr. and Mabel Pearl Craft Byers; and his siblings, Kenneth Byers and Betty Shoaf. He is survived by: his close friend Tammy Byers of Bluefield, WV; his children, Amanda Hall (Jacob) and Charles Thomas Byers III (Carrie Gibson) of Bluefield, WV; his granddaughter Gabriella Gibson; and his nephew Tony Shoaf (Sue).
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A graveside service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park (3410 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701).
In lieu of flowers, Charles requested balloons to be sent to funeral home.
