He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Penland and Clifford Penland; and his brother Randy Penland (Linda). He is survived by: his wife Lynn Penland; his daughter Michelle Penland (Aaron McBride); his stepdaughters, Maria Jenkins and Shannon Neal; his grandchildren, Avett McBride, Shaniah Neal, Roslyn Neal, Alaina Menefee and Alissa Menefee; and his siblings, Patricia "Susie" Adkins (Steve), Mildred "Millie" Ward (Dar), Bobby Penland (Michelle) and Danny Penland (Samantha). He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
