He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Perkins and Mildred Perkins. He is survived by: his close friend Shirley Bailey; his children, Velissa Perkins, Jerry Perkins Jr. (Carrie), Patrick Perkins (Britany) and Monica Perkins (Dustin); his stepchildren, Jessica Hedges (James) and Steven Short (Michelle); his siblings, Joyce Carver and Tony Perkins; his grandson Brycen Perkins; Jimmy Perkins, Rose Mary Jimmerson, Christine Perkins and Joseph Short. He is also survived by 17 other grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
