She is survived by : her husband John D. Nelson; her children, Johnny D. Nelson, Jr. (Kimberly) of Princeton and Melissa Rovnak of Bluefield, WV; her grandchildren, Ryan Nelson (Ashleigh), Hannah Nelson, Ethan Nelson, Kristin Michelle Collare (Mark), Joshua David Pruitt and Logan Matthew Pruitt; her great grandchildren, Ariel Makayla Jacobs and Sophia Lee McColl; and her siblings, Danny Punturi (Carol) of Bluefield, Brian Punturi (Bonnie) of Martinsville, WV, Johnny Punturi of Bluefield, Robert Punturi of Winston-Salem, NC, Joan Iris White (Allen) of Bluefield, WV and Carol Racine Punturi Perry.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
