We announce the death of Samuel Young (Bluefield, West Virginia), born in Keystone, West Virginia, who passed away on August 21, 2026, at the age of 73. Samuel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolphus Sr. and Jane; and his siblings, Adolphus Jr. and Dorothy Bigelow. He is survived by: his pet Pimp; his sisters, Clovia Thompson of Maryland, Vondelere, Lisa Carrington (Eugene) of Macon, Georgia and Carlotta Young; his sister-in-law Justina H. Young of Roanoke, Virginia; his uncle George Thomas of Masschusetts; and his friend Simba. He is also survived by nephews and nieces; great and great-great-nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Greater Mount Zion Pentecostal Church (104 Park St, Bluefield, WV 24701). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
