He is survived by: his wife Judy Mullins Lanter; his children, Tiffany Palmer (Chris) of Princeton, WV, Emmett Lanter (Diane) of Montcalm, WV, Steven Lanter (Melissa) of Montcalm, WV, Timothy Lanter, Jr. (Cassandra) of Princeton, WV, Linda Lanter Johnson (Darrell) of Princeton, WV and Brenda Lanter Kennedy (Billy) of Princeton, WV; his siblings, Ralph Lanter (Carol) of Tennessee, Dolores Bowling of Ohio and Joyce Patterson of Missouri; his grandchildren, Trenton McIntyre and Zoe Palmer; his niece Mindy Craft (Roger); his great-nephew Andrew Tessner; and his great-niece Chloe Craft.
A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Book Hotel Woodlawn Memorial Park (3410 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701).
