He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Cindi Green (Phil), Donnie Upole (Lesa) and Robert Upole; his stepdaughter Kelly Slaubaugh; his sister Nancy Kitzmiller; and his grandchildren, Traci Feist (Chris), Kristi Liverance (Henry), Michelle Garcia (Jessie), Tiffany Wiles (Johnny), BJ Upole (Heather), Barry Upole (Mariah), Joe Schmidt (Kate) and Lily Slaubaugh. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to the Hospice of Garrett County.
