He was predeceased by: his parents, Irma Lucille Grimmett (Browning) and Billy James Hatley Sr.; and his stepfather Denny Judd Grimmett. He is survived by: his grandchild Piper; his children, Haley Cantrell (Kirk Cline) and Billy James Hatley III; his close friend Sandy Belcher; his siblings, Eddie Grimmett (Wilma Dawn), Debra Flint (Bob) and Gale Browning (Burt); his grandchild Bronx Cantrell; his stepson Zach Belcher; and his daughter Brenda Sue Cole. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
