Friel (Cherie) of Marlinton, WV and Kristin Friel Kinnison (Clark) of Hillsboro, WV; his sisters, Ellen Friel Doyle (Gary) of Slatyfork, WV, Delores Friel Buzzard (Clark) of Frost, WV and Judith Friel McCord of Stevens City, VA; his grandchildren, Andrew Myers (Bethany), Linzi Mahaffey (Adam), Braxton Buzzard (Amanda), Brendon Buzzard, James Friel, Ryan Friel, Allison Friel, Jacob Kinnison, Lillian Kinnison and Hugh Kinnison; and his great grandchildren, Luke Myers, Samantha Myers, Emma Myers, William Mahaffey, Cole Buzzard, Kimberly Buzzard and Karlie Buzzard.
