He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Smith and Zelma Smith; his grandson Kenneth James Landis; and his brother-in-law William Anderson. He is survived by: his children, Peggy Landis of Buckhannon and Bennie Junior Smith (Jennifer Kelley) of Spring Hill, TN; his granddaughter Olivia Smith (Zach Merklein) of Dallas, TX; his sister Sharon Anderson; his niece Kimberly Schelette of Bowie, MD; his great-nieces, Ashley and Bella; and his great-nephew Emmett of Bowie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home (95 S Kanawha St, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Bailey Cemetery (11499 S 581, Bailey, NC 27807).
