He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Grant and Dorotha Blanche Tenney Rowan; and his siblings, Wanda Smith, James Rowan, Berlin Tenney (Whitie), Mary H. Runner, Pauline D. Orient and Donald R. Rowan.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Edward Rowan of Hodgesville, WV, Steven Rowan (Melissa) of Morgantown, WV, Paula Harper (John) of Sutton, WV and Maya Rose Rowan of Buckhannon; and his siblings, Corina Combs (Tony) of Ravenswood, WV, Rosalee Nestlebeck of Columbus, OH, Okel Rowan of Lost Creek, WV and Paul Rowan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
