It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roger Ellis Straley (Buckhannon, West Virginia), who passed away on November 4, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Nada Lamb and Nada Davis; his stepfather Lorn Davis; his son Roger, Jr. (Mary); his wife Sylvia "Candy" (Workman); his children, Shane (Cheryl) of Buckhannon, WV and Tonya Klein (Travis) of Midlothian, VA; his granddaughter Laura Burton; and his siblings, Carl Skidmore (Sharon) of Parkersburg, WV, Robert Davis (Linda) of Chesapeake, VA, Joseph Davis (Sonja) of Ellamore, WV, Barbara "JoAnn" Davis of Ellamore, WV, Robin Davis (Laura) of Beverly, WV and Kathryn "Cissy" Wilcox of Ellamore, WV.. He was also cherished by six siblings, their spouses behind, thirty-seven nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sand Run Baptist Church, Kesling Mill Lions Club in Buckhannon, WV, or the American Cancer Society, organizations Roger felt strongly about.
