Ronnie Steerman, age 73, a resident of Philippi, WV., passed from this life, in Holbrook Nursing Home of Buckhannon, WV., while under the care of WV Caring Hospice, with his beloved wife Terri by his side on Monday, June 29, 2026, he was a cherished son, beloved husband, a devoted father to his children, a true brother to his sibling, and a great friend to many.

Ron was born on August 9, 1952, at Alderson Broaddus Hospital in Philippi, a son to the late Guy J. Steerman, and Luella Ann Cole.

He joined hands in marriage to the former Terri Kisamore on November 19, 1983.

Ronnie leaves behind: Sons; Scott Steerman, Jason Steerman, of Philippi, Travis Steerman, and girlfriend, Tara Ware of Jane Lew, Nathan Steerman, and girlfriend Selina Henderson of Mt. Clare.

Grandchildren: Tristan Steerman, Bentley Henderson, Colston Steerman, Landon Fisher, and Rylee Fisher.

Stepsister; StephanieRonnie was a Christian by faith; he attended the schools of Barbour County and was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School Class of 1970, he was a member of the Bigelow Lodge #52 AF and AM of Philippi, where he formed lifelong friendships that would accompany him throughout his journey. His roots in Philippi ran deep, and he held a profound love for his hometown and its community. He was known for his unwavering support of his loved ones and his ability to brighten even the darkest days with his laughter and warmth. He was a heavy equipment operator at J.F. Allen, he worked at various coal mines, Philippi Development, and Barbour Coal, he also worked at Holdens Hydro Setting. His favorite hobby was recording Casey Kasem America's Top forty he has most of them on cassette tapes. Ronnie enjoyed working on cars and remolding his house. He played electric guitar and would teach people how to play. He was a social butterfly who never met a stranger, most of all he loved his wife, boys, and grandchildren. His warmth, infectious smile, and generous spirit touched the lives of many, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family would like to thank Holbrook Nursing Home, WV Caring Hospice, for the love and care provided to Ronnie.

Family and friends may gather at the Kittle Family Funeral 265 Beech Ave., Philippi on Thursday July 2, 2026, from 3pm until 8pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 8 pm with Pastor Mike Rexroad as the celebrant. In honoring Ronnie's wishes his remains will be cremated. The Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions be made to Animal Friends of Barbour County, 320 Valley Bend Road, Belington, WV 26250. Rest in peace, dear Ronnie – you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
