It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Louise Smith of Buckhannon, West Virginia, who passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Ruth leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Travis and Flora Losh Travis; her husband Robert Eldon Smith; and her brother John Travis. She is survived by: her sons, Robert Eldon Smith, II of Buckhannon and Jason Robert Smith of Buckhannon; her grandson Robert Eldon Smith, III of Washington, PA; her siblings, Mary Annerino (Leroy) of Warren, OH and Gary Travis (Terri) of Wintersville, OH; and her sister-in-law Sharon Travis of Wellsville, OH. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
