With sadness, we share the passing of Lawrence Edward Dokes of Bunker Hill, West Virginia. Lawrence, born on June 1, 1941, passed away on September 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mary "Sugar Pie" Dokes; his siblings, Bessie Dokes, Dorothy Brown, Arthur Dokes and Marshall Dokes; and his parent Carrie G. Dokes.
He is survived by: his son Anthony Dokes (Ashley) of Bunker Hill, WV; his sisters, Virginia Stern and Augusta Williams; his friends, James Lockley, Stan and Raymond Washington, Jr.; and his granddaughters, Tanisha Dokes and Kaelyn Dokes.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cartwright Funeral Home (232 E Fairfax Ln, Winchester, VA 22601). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
