He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Ritter and Gerthal Ritter (Spindle); and his siblings, Betty Jean Franklin, Deborah L. Garber, John, Charles, George, Harry and Robert Ritter.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine D. Weaver Ritter (Jones); his son James Ritter of Salem, WV; his grandson James "Jimmy" Ritter; his great grandchildren, Janie and Jennifer Ritter; his sister Belva Junkins of Salem, WV; and his close friend Wayne Gerst of Severna Park, MD. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a large circle of other friends.
