It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Clay Holderby of Burlington, West Virginia, who passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Carolyn Sue Holderby (Dettinburn); his grandparents, Harry and Georgia Dettinburn; and his niece Allyson Warnick. He is survived by: his father Wilbur Clay Holderby of Gerrardstown, WV; his wife Karen Sue Holderby (Grandstaff); his daughters, Carly Welch (Mike) of Burlington and Teresa of Logan, WV.; his grandchildren, Caleb Welch (Kristina Mason), Braedon Welch (Ashia Mayhew), Emerald Welch, Jack, Cody, Heaven and Laney Rodeheaver; his great grandchildren, Ruby, Jaxon Welch, Runa and Rowen Rodeheaver; and his sister Susan Holderby of Gerrardstown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his special canine companion, his baby girl.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home ~ Keyser Chapel (85 S Main St, Keyser, WV 26726). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
