He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Franklin and Mabel Mae Sears (Riggleman); his wife Louise Marie Sears (Ayers); his sons, John Paul Sears and Dakota Wayne Gladstone Sears; and his siblings, Lucy Lee Sears and Carl David Sears, Sr. (Sears).
He is survived by: his children, Bobbie Marie "Booie" Rexroad (Samuel) of Keyser and Robert Franklin Sears, Jr. of Pennsylvania; his stepson Carl David Sears, Jr. (Nicole) of Keyser; his grandchildren, Austin, Brett, Jordyn, Malachi, Nathanial and Nadya; and his sisters, Judy Carter of Augusta, WV and Sylvia Mauk of Hagerstown, MD.. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel (2266 Northwestern Turnpike, Burlington, WV 26710). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
