It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chan Mason Whitt Sr. of Caldwell, West Virginia, who passed away on April 10, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther Emmett and Margaret Kilgore Whitt; his son Chan Mason Whitt Jr.; his siblings, Warren Whitt, Madeline, Wilma, Macel, Ether and Mildred; his granddaughter Macie Dove; his close friend Marshall Hoke; and his pet Greybouy.

He is survived by : his daughters, Priscilla "Pris" Whitt Woodrum, Carol "Pink" Whitt-Schingen, Melissa "Beautiful" Whitt, Chancie "Bootsy" Whitt, Dawn "Dawn Dawn" Christa Whitt, Gereta "Gigi'Dove (Doug) and Lil Melissa Hoke; the mother of his children Gereta "Sue" Hampton; and his sister Janice Richards (John). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home (252 Montvue Dr, Lewisburg, WV 24901).
