He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Gorby and Amanda Williams Gorby; his wife Christy Lee Barnette Gorby; and his siblings, Alvin Gorby, Dora Prendergast, Nellie Tustin and Charles Gorby.
He is survived by: his children, Heather Tedrow (Bobby) of New Martinsville, W. V, Shelley Lilley (Nathan) of Cameron, W. V. and Joe Gorby Jr. of Waynesburg, W. V.; his siblings, Wanda Stern, Erma'Sis Ann'Barnhart, Christy Johnson, Larry Gorby, Bunt Gorby, Don Gorby and Diddle Gorby; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Curtis, Haley, Gavyn, Kennedi, Colton, Krissy, Kenlee, Isiah, Ava, Carter and Liam; and his great grandchildren, Hutson, Callie, Braxton, Waylyn, Weston and Cassie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and some cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services (4093 Dragon Hwy, Cameron, WV 26033). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
