She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar R. Brooks and Stella G. Carpenter Brooks; her husband Elbert Hosey; her daughter Lucy Payne; her son-in-law Denver "Junior" Carpenter; and her siblings, Annive "Annie" Clark, Rosa Lee "Rosie" Clark, Marlene Brooks, Carl, Harley, Arley and Jesse Brooks.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Carpenter of Buckhannon, Kathy Gum (Ricky) of Cass, Rena Bump (Paul) of Salem and Leroy Brooks (Lea Ann) of Buckhannon; her sister Isalea Carr of Parsons; and her son-in-law Carl Payne of Webster Springs. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
