He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsey Bevin and Shirley Messer Chafin; and his siblings, Lafe C. Chafin, Doris Chafin Chun-Ming and Chloenette Chafin Amos.
He is survived by: his wife Alfredia Christian Chafin; his son R. Bevin Chafin; and his grandson Lyle Chafin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Ceredo (1120 Poplar St, Kenova, WV 25530). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
