He was predeceased by : his parents, John Smith and Louella Smith; his wife Marge Smith; his brothers, John, Bill, Donald and Barry; and his son-in-law Don Giardina.

He is survived by : his daughters, Jenny Sue Caling (Denny), Peggy Whetzel (George) and Alice Smoot (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Bethany Miller, Jenna McDonald, Kris Whetzel, Kaitlyn Wagoner and Bret Caling; and his brother Todd Smith. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
