She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Daniel and Frances Baldwin Ruffner; her husband Edgar Mason Whiting, Jr.; and her siblings, Nelson Ruffner, Jane Lucas, Sue Housden and Polly Hershberger.
She is survived by: her children, Edgar Mason Whiting, III (Kathleen) of Stevensville, MT and Catherine Whiting Athey (George) of Charles Town, WV. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
