He was predeceased by : his parents, Woodrow W. Eckert and Phyllis I. Eckert (King). He is survived by : his wife Linda Eckert; his sisters, Mary Motz, Ann Kauffman (Lester) and Ruth Flood (Jerry); his children, Julie A. Cade (Lucas) of Winchester, VA, George M. Eckert of Waynesboro, PA, Jennifer L. Eckert of Greencastle, PA and William D. Eckert of Chambersburg, PA; his stepdaughter Laurie Schneider (BJ) of Middleburg, FL.; his grandchildren, Seth Eckert, Zebulon Blackstock, Allison Schwartz, Noah Eckert, Sarah Bishop and Hannah Schneider; and his great grandchildren, Everett and Louise.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brown Funeral Home (327 W King St, Martinsburg, WV 25401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at the Edge Hill Cemetery (427 E Congress St, Charles Town, WV 25414). A burial was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at the same location.
