With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Prema Nayak of Charles Town, West Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Prema may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Prema touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Srinivas Narayan Gaitonde and Sushila Srinivas Gaitonde; and her siblings, Ramdas Gaitonde, Balu Gaitonde and Shanta Mavinkurve.
She is survived by: her husband Sitaram; her children, Aneil Nayak (Brinda) of Fairfax, Virginia, Anita Menon (Shayam) of Falls Church and Aarti Rouser (Dave) of Aldie, Virginia; and her siblings, Bob Gaitonde (Bharati) of Dallas, Satish Gaitonde (Vineeta) of Bakersfield, California, Sudha Mujumdar (Ramesh) of Pune and Priyanka Shanbhag (Gokul). She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
