We are sad to announce that on December 27, 2023, at the age of 85, Walter Whitacre of Charles Town, West Virginia, born in Berryville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Herman Whitacre and Jannette Mae Fultz Whitacre; and his sister Constance Whitacre. He is survived by : his wife Augusta Dakin Kenney Whitacre; his children, Amy Whitacre Sheetz, James Sheetz, Sarah Whitacre Schottler, Robert Schottler, Jesse Taylor Whitacre and Alyson Bridget Whitacre; and his grandchildren, Caroline, Jack Schottler, William, Joseph and Charles Whitacre.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
