She was predeceased by: her husband Fred D. Black, Jr.; her parents, Robert Bealey Harris and Maude Judd Harris; her sister Bernice Harris; and her son Michael Black.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Gabriella Black and Logan Black; and her sister Lorrine Horner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (432 Shrewsbury St, Charleston, WV 25301). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family suggests sending donations to First Baptist Church of Charleston, West Virginia, in honor of Barbara Black.
