It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Payne (Charleston, West Virginia), who passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Stapleton and Mary Ann Stapleton; and her siblings, Opal Walkerman, Kathleen Johnston, Anna Harbour, Foe Haynes, Audrey Comer, Charles Stapleton, Edward Stapleton, Damon Stapleton and Naaman Stapleton.
She is survived by: her husband Roscoe Payne Jr.; her daughter Mary Ann Baria (Joseph) of Saint Albans, WV; and her siblings, Frances Anderson (Larry) of Parkersburg, WV, Jo Fitch of Kennesaw, GA, Tom Stapleton (Margaret) of Creola, OH and Myrtle Goble of Hillsboro, OH..
The family would prefer in lieu of flowers to make donations to the Hubbard Hospice House in Hilda's name.
