She was predeceased by: her husband Dorsel Burnside; her stepson Bill Fekishazy; her parents, Lester Roy and Mary Frances Williams Keeney; and her siblings, Virginia Ruth Keeney, Robert Keeney, Henry Gardener and Tommy Phalin.
She is survived by: her son James Everett Smith Jr. of Charleston; her stepchildren, Sharon Williams of Chelyan, Donald Burnside (Sharon) of Marmet, Terry Burnside of Mooresville, IN and Tom Burnside (Debbie) of Campbells Creek; her sister Kay Darby of Gastonia, NC; and her sibling's children, Cindy, Mindy Keeney and Robert Keeney. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and friends.
