He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Vivian Colleen Hackney; and his brother Cameron Ray Hackney. He is survived by: his sister Jeanette Schindler of Marietta, Ohio; his nieces, Lauren Hackney and Alison Atkinson; and his nephew Luke Schindler. He is also survived by four grand-nieces.
