He was predeceased by: his sons, Mark and Timothy; his parents, John Shannon and Cecil Shannon; and his siblings, Beda German, Wesley Shannon, Mary Whitman, Martha Frazier, John Jr., Gertrude Hicks and Homer Sidney Shannon.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughter Kimberly Neil (Craig); his daughter-in-law Melody Shannon; his grandchildren, Sterling Jordan, Courtney Shannon, Samuel Neil and Sydney Neil; his stepgrandsons, Matthew Sanchez and Cory Sanchez; and his sister Dorothy Morris. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
