Scott Edward jarrett Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Scott Edward jarrett, born July 3rd, 1963 to the late Edward and Sue Jarrett (South Charleston, West Virginia), passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family passed away with his family by his side following an extended illness.
Scott was one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet. He began working at the age of 13 and continued throughout his life until his illness forced him to retire in 2018. What many people may not know is that Scott was a highly skilled auto body repairman before relocating to West Virginia, where he eventually found his niche in sale. And Scott could sell just about anything.. Over the years, he probably sold 50 or 60 cars to members of his own family alone. Somehow, he always managed to find a deal that was just too good to refuse.
Although Scott never had children of his own, family meant everything to him. He was fully invested in spoiling his nieces and nephews and, later, his great-nieces and great-nephews. He loved them as if they were his own and took great pride in being part of their lives.
Scott also loved working in his yard and was determined to have the prettiest lawn in the neighborhood. Anyone who worked with him—or especially for him—knows he could be a little salty from time to time. And if you ever had the privilege of driving Scott anywhere, you also know there may never have been a better backseat driver.
Scott will be deeply loved and missed by his family and friends. While saying goodbye is difficult, his family finds comfort knowing that he is now with the Lord and that the pain and suffering he endured over the last several years are finally over.
Friends and family may leave a message for Scott and his family on the memorial page.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Scott’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mountain Mission Church (Dunbar, avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064).
