Wilbur Garrett Medley Obituary

Wilbur Garrett Medley, 90, of Charleston, West Virginia passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital. He was born November 25, 1935, in Charleston, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by parents, Wesley and Opal Medley and brother, Wesley Medley.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and received an honorable discharge. As a young man, he enjoyed boxing and was a Golden Gloves Boxer. He was a retired crane operator and a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 132 for 55 years.

He is survived by his son Gary (Teresa) Medley of Tornado, WV; daughter Teri Yurkovich of Evans, WV; grandchildren Chad Donohew of Mason County, WV, Jarrod Donohew of Evans, WV, Wesley Medley of St. Albans, WV, Pamela Medley of Tornado, WV and five great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed driving, dining out, walking in town, and visiting family and friends. Wilbur insisted on and took pride in being independent and living alone. Per his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes will be buried beside his parents at Honeysuckle Farm, Tornado, WV. A private memorial by invitation will be held later.
